Hiroshima University has been selected as an implementing organization for the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology’s (MEXT) “Project for Establishing University Fellowships for the Creation of Innovation in Science and Technology”.
Under this project, the Hiroshima University Graduate School Research Fellowship was launched in FY2021, and 53 excellent doctoral students enrolled in the research fields of information/AI, quantum physics, materials, and sustainability science were accredited as Research Fellows. This Fellowship will provide up to 1.8 million yen per year in stipends, to allow the Fellows to concentrate on their research, and research funds of up to 300,000 yen per year.
Furthermore, this system will support the Research Fellows to create diversified, multi-track career paths, ranging from entering the private sector and international organizations, to starting up a business, thereby producing world-class research personnel who will play an active role and be evaluated in the local and international communities.
